Editor’s Letter

Dear Leader,

Considering the news we’re confronted with these days, uncertainty and anxiety are understandable states of mind. Growing climate volatility and the COVID-19 pandemic are certainly high up on any list of things to worry about.

This is why it’s more important than ever for you and your customers to have access to tools and resources that can help you prepare for current and evolving risks. Providing those tools and resources is what our business is all about.

This issue of Program Leader addresses those two major sources of uncertainty in several articles. An overview of a new natural hazards resource hub being built on the Zurich North America website highlights our continuing effort to provide guidance on mitigating the impact of increasingly frequent severe weather events. Jonathan Charak, Emerging Solutions Director, writes about Parametric Insurance’s promise in helping businesses build climate resilience. And we look specifically at the challenges of climate change with insights on renewable/alternative energy industries and emission-reduction technologies from David Edsey, Climate Director - Product Management.

We have an update on Zurich’s ongoing response to COVID-19, including our participation in UNICEF's vaccination campaign. And a summary of Zurich Insurance Group CEO Mario Greco’s appearance during Reuter’s Future of Insurance event touches on climate change, the pandemic, cyber security and more.

This issue also spotlights Propel Insurance, Program Administrator for a fantastic new insurance program for manufactured home communities. Another article highlights an exciting new risk assessment tool, iAuditor. And, as always, we take some time to get to know one of our great team members. This issue, it’s Rob Page, Director of Operations - Programs Support.
